About real CORAIL cars :
Corail cars are passenger cars of the French National Railway Company, put into service between 1975 and 1989.
The baptismal name “Coral”, which also applies to trains made up of these cars, is a portmanteau word formed from “comfort” and “rail”. This name popularized by advertising also evokes the bright orange color of the doors which characterized the first livery of these cars.
Their original livery, light gray with a band of dark gray windows and orange-coloured doors, contrasted with the “wagon green” of previous generations. They are characterized by the generalization of air conditioning, their qualities of comfort, suspension and soundproofing, as well as rolling (equipment of anti-slippers on all cars and aptitude for 160 km/h and 200 km/h) . Their massive commissioning, with nearly 4,000 units, has enabled a real leap in the quality of SNCF passenger service.
